Have not been able to use without instructions. The grill was missing manual and accessory, I sent a request for the manual to the seller (From: iPriceclub) and received this reply;
"Thanks for contacting us. This item is now under the manufacturer warranty and you should contact them directly if the box had missing pieces or parts. Here is their contact information. Let them know you received item as a gift and was missing the spatula and manual and they will send you replacements. If you have further q's for us let me know, thx Brandon"
First time I've had a problem with Amazon, I would have expected a better response. It did not show much responsibility for what they sell by this seller.
